Ended in Santo Domingo our Junior Continental individual event with new champions crowned, and outstanding achievements in U19 by Nyl Yakura from Canada, who won 3 golds, also in U13 with Micaela Lum from USA took 3 golds and from Puerto Rico, Daneysha Santana took 3 golds in two age groups. Good effort from Brazil taking 5 golds.
Medal count gave USA 9 golds, Canada 7, Brazil 5, Puerto Rico 3 and Mexico 1. Great improvement shown from Brazilian players this year and also surprising performance from El Salvador in U11.
Next year the XX Junior Pan Am will be hosted by Jamaica in the city of Kingston, in the month of July.

With more then 370 matches played the first two days began the individual age group events. Players from 16 countries are taking part in this year's event in Santo Domingo. Today all quarter finals matches will be played, in another long session of play.

The strong team from USA won again the Team Competition at the XIX Pan Am Junior Championships played in the city of Santo Domingo. Through three hard days of competition for the Title, the final standings are : 1. USA, 2. Peru, 3. Canada, 4. Brazil, 5. Puerto Rico, 6. Jamaica, 7. Suriname and 8. Dominican Republic.
Teams of Peru and USA played the final after the Opening Ceremony at the Sports Pavillion, with presence of local authorities and participating teams. Final scores were 3-1 for USA, for the 3rd place Canada beat Brazil 3-1.

Today thursday at Parque del Este Venue, began the Team Competition, eight teams in two groups will be playing for medals.
Group A: USA, CANADA, JAMAICA and PUERTO RICO
Group B: PERU, BRAZIL, SURINAME and DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Un update on our Junior Events, in Team Competition we have 9 countries:
BRA, CAN, DOM, JAM, MEX, PER,PUR, SUR, USA.
Competition will begin on thursday August 5th.
For Individual events we have a total of 16 countries :
BRA, CAN, DOM, JAM, MEX, PER,PUR, SUR, USA.BAR, CSR, SAL, VEN, GUY, T&T, ECU, and over 370 players.
Please take note of the Team Managers Meeeting on Wednesday 4th, which will be conducted by the Referee Mr. Jeff Bell (CAN), here the draws for Team and Individual events will be made!
